My name is Gwendolyn Morgan Murphy, but you can call me Gwen. I grew up on 40 acres of land way out in South-Eastern Arizona, with pretty much no one my age around for miles. My days were spent running barefoot around our property, climbing trees, getting stickers embedded in my skin, and diving deep into entire imaginary worlds i had created on various parts of our land. When I was inside the house, I was almost always either reading novels or watching movies. Either way, I loved two things, being outside, and stories; and in one way or another, dreamed of telling stories myself one day.
I went to New Mexico State University on a volleyball scholarship, met a boy, who would grow into a hilarious, amazing, caring, selfless man named CJ. I got my bachelors in Marketing with a minor in Journalism. It was in college, through athletics, that I found a passion for health, fitness and mindset. These interests led me to becoming a personal trainer upon graduating, and while am no longer a PT, I am still incredibly passionate about physical and mental health as well as empowering others to lead a lifestyle that makes them feel powerful.
This life on the road has sparked tremendous growth for me. It’s taught me great patience. It’s given me the time and ability to peel back my own layers in order to figure out more about who I am and how I want to show up in this world. it’s allowed me to pursue writing and storytelling, an interest that got pushed to the wayside when I was young and fearful that I couldn’t make a living as a writer. This lifestyle has changed my life. I am happier, healthier and less anxious than i have ever been. I am often brought to my knees in gratitude for the opportunity to travel, learn and grow with the man I love, and our fur babies with me every step of the way.
I’m still figuring it all out, just like everyone else. in the words of the late great David Bowie, I don’t know where i’m going from here, but I promise it won’t be boring.
